GENERAL INFORMATION: Born in Athens, Greece, September 13, 1963


EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
1974-1980: Classical Piano and music theory studies at the National and Hellenic Musical Academies
1982: Graduated as a Computer Programmer at the Control Data Computer’s Education department.
1985: Graduated as a Film and TV Director from the Greek film Academy “Stavrakos”.
1985-1986: Studied advanced Computer Programming at the ELKEPA, Athens.
1983-1987: Lessons and seminars on music composition with the composers T.Antoniou, H.Xanthoudakis.
1987-1990 Studied in London, theory of music and electronic music (Morley College, Goldsmith’s college)
2005-2006 (m .sc.) “Arts and Technologies of sound”. Postgraduate course of the Music Studies department of the Ionian University (Corfu). Thesis title: “Reference DVD for the measurement and evaluation of sound fidelity on digital versatile disk players (DVD).
2005- Research “Analysis and application of the features of optical discs with blue laser technology on multimedia and interactive works” (PhD Dissertation to be completed on spring 2008)  




WORK EXPERIENCE:

2006- to date Supervisor of the multimedia studio of the “Arts of Sound and Vision” department of the Ionian University (www.ionio.gr ), Corfu –Greece.

2005- to date Tutor on the “Music Studies” department of the Ionian university and the Postgraduate courses of the same department.

Composer and orchestrator of music for film and TV, electronic music, music for small ensembles, film and multimedia performances (for details visit  www.stratoudakis.gr).

1990-1999 Teacher of music for film, music information technology and music production techniques at the film academy “Stavrakos” .

Director of a number of documentaries, films, video and video-art programmes for the Greek TV (ET1 and NET) and independent producers.

Organizer of the 1992 Athens based educational seminars on multimedia and art, funded by the European Commission.

A member of the Greek Composers of Electronic Music Association (ESSIM) and the “European Meeting For Art and New Technologies” (ESTET) and the center for contemporary music research.)

Extensive work and research on various experimental digital systems (UPIC, PODX, etc.)

Specializes in multimedia applications in art and DVD authoring.

Occasional journalist for art and technology  magazines (Sound +Hi-Fi, RAM, Computer for all , Cinematographer, etc.)
